Off Table Riffle Shuffle

Basically the off table riffle shuffle has the same method as table riffle shuffle, only you done it without a table.

A bit more difficult, but with a proper grip you can eliminate the difficulty.

Off Table Riffle Shuffle - How to

  • Place a deck of playing cards on your hand. Then use your other hand to cut and take half of the deck.

Figure 1.3
  • Grip each half of the deck face down in each hand. The proper grip is necessary to support the deck of cards, so the cards would not fall when you do the riffle. Thumb on top short edge, index finger on one of the long edge, and your other three fingers on the other short edge. (see Figure 1.2). Apply the grip to both hands. Then turn the deck face down and move both half of the decks closer so both of your thumbs almost touch each other. (See Figure 1.3)
  • Use your thumb to start "riffle" the cards of each deck so that the cards interweaved. Use your thumb to bend the cards upward, then release some of the pressure slowly to riffle the cards. (see Figure 2.1)

  • Then after all the cards have been riffle off, you can just push and square the cards (see Figure 2.2)
  • Or you can just bend both of the short edge to make the deck into bridge or dome shaped. Then release the pressure to automatically riffle the cards and square the deck. (see Figure 2.3)
